Hoover Dam or as some remember it, Boulder Dam in Las Vegas, NV.. Boulder City, NV

Hello Everyone,
If you’re looking for something to do today, perhaps you maybe interested in visiting The Hoover Dam which was once known as Boulder Dam,  the Dam  located at the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the United states of  AZ and NV. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin Roosevelt. Its construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over one hundred lives. The dam was controversially named after  President Hoover.

Since about 1900, the Black Canyon and nearby Boulder Canyon had been investigated for their potential to support a dam that would control floods, provide irrigation water and produce Hydroelectric power. In 1928, Congress authorized the project. . Such a large concrete structure had never been built before, and some of the techniques were unproven. The torrid summer weather and the lack of facilities near the site also presented difficulties. Nevertheless, Six Companies turned over the dam to the federal government on March 1, 1936, more than two years ahead of schedule.

Hoover Dam impounds  Lake Mead, and is located near Boulder City, NV, a municipality originally constructed for workers on the construction project, about 25 mi (40 km) southeast of LasVegas, NV. The dam’s generators provide power for public and private utilities in Nevada, Arizona, and California. Hoover Dam is a major tourist attraction; nearly a million people tour the dam each year.  Be ready to take your time when you visit. It’s a beautiful drive out there, but maybe preety busy. You might want to check out Boulder City also.  It’s worth the stop.

Hello all,

I have been in the Real Estate Biz for sometime now, approximately 14 years.  I have to say that every office I have worked at has been a JOY.   I just left an Real Estate office that I highly admired. I left there to join a friend of mine who opened up her own Brokerage, LVsweetHomes Realty.  She and I became Friends and Real Estate buddies when we both were working at the same RE/MAX office.  Her office is very professional and exciting.  The office handles all Real Estate Needs, Property Management,  Buyers, Sellers, REO, Short Sales, Everything. It’s easy to use.  For example:  when it asks for the property tax to be entered you can estimate it by figuring 1% of the price of the house.  If you’re interested in a $100k home your taxes will be around $84 a month.

For Homeowners Insurance:  You can estimate about $300-$5oo a year for a home valued at $100k
